Scientific achievements of NCSTU

Scientific and research work is a major kind of activity in NCSTU; it is carried out in 24 directions that correspond to priority directions of scientific, technical and technological development, approved by the president of the RF.

Some scientific directions have been granted the status of scientific schools on account of their scientific achievements. It concerns following directions:

  1. Scientific school “Living systems”. The scientific supervisor is Khramtsov A.G., Doctor of Sciences, professor, academician of Russian Academy of Agricultural Sciences, honoured scientist of the Russian Federation.
  2. Scientific school “Sustainable development of territorial socio-economic systems”. The scientific supervisor is Ushvitskiy L.I., Doctor of Sciences, professor.
  3. Scientific school “Urgent problems of competitive economy development and humanization”. The scientific supervisor is Slepakov S.S., Doctor of Sciences, professor, the head of department “Economy and management at enterprise”.
  4. Scientific school “Mathematical modeling of properties and technologies of advanced microelectronic materials production”. The scientific supervisor is Altukhov V.I., Doctor of Sciences, professor, academician of Natural Sciences Academy.
  5. Scientific school “Modern problems of enterprise management theory and practice”. The scientific supervisor is Parakhina V.N., Doctor of Sciences, professor.
  6. Scientific school “Productive formation exposing by abnormal pressure in drilling and well workover”. The scientific supervisor is Tagirov K.M., Doctor of Sciences, professor.
  7. Scientific school “Information supply of humanistic research”. The scientific supervisor is Vetrov Y.P., Doctor of Sciences, professor.
  8. Scientific school “Application of information technologies in power industry”. The scientific supervisor is Kononov Y.G., Doctor of Sciences, professor.
  9. Scientific school of social philosophy. The scientific supervisor is Gorshkov V.A., Doctor of Sciences, professor, academician of Russian Academy of Social Sciences, consulting professor of philosophy department.
  10. Scientific school “Physical chemistry, solid state chemistry, modern micro- and nanotechnologies”. The scientific supervisor is Sinelnikov B.M., Doctor of Sciences, professor, full member of Russian Academy of Technical Sciences, the Government of the Russian Federation prize winner.

For the past few years more than 270 monographs were published, based on the results of research. The subject area of the carried out research included all main fields of knowledge.

On the 7-th International Investment forum in Sochi a university project was presented under the supervision of the rector of NCSTU Sinelnikov B.M.: “The production of nano-based solar photoelectric plants nanotechnologies”. The project aroused great interest of investors and heads of Russian regions.

For participation in XIV International Congress Exhibition “High Technologies, Innovations, Investments” the university was awarded with 1 gold and 2 silver medals.

The university was also awarded for participation in All-Russian Forum “Educational milieu – 2006”.

10 scientists of NCSTU were given awards in the field of education at the contest of the government of the Russian Federation.

NCSTU won the contest of business incubator for students, postgraduate students and scientists.

Very important for scientific and innovative activity of the university is development and registration of items of intellectual property. The main subjects of intellectual property in the university are patents for invention, know-hows and computer programmes. At the moment NCSTU is the holder of 210 patents for invention of the RF.

The participation of the university in scientific and technical programmes, grants is an integral part of research and also a good financial support for the university.

The research workers of the university take part in scientific and technical programmes of Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation and other programmes. Here are some of them:

-        “Government support of regional scientific and technical policy and its development in 2002-2006”.

-        “Scientific investigations of higher school in priority directions of science and technology in 2002-2006”.

-        “Investigation and development in priority directions of science and technology in 2002-2006”.

-        “Investigation and development in priority directions of scientific and technological complex of Russia in 2007-2012”.

-        “Federal and regional science and education policy”.

-        “Scientific development of higher school in 2006-2008”.

-        “Energy saving in educational institutions of Russian Ministry of Education and Science”.

-        Regional programme “Energy saving in Stavropol Region”.

-        Regional target-programme “Informatization of executive authorities in Stavropol region”.

The scientists of NCSTU also take part in international projects and programmes. These are joint Russian-Canadian research projects; scientific investigations with the company Samsung Electronics, Technical University of Chemnitz and University of London nanocentre.

The university has 12 research departments (research institutions, scientific and production centres, research laboratories etc).

For the past few years 25 international, regional and university conferences have been held with researchers of different scientific branches participating.

The university scientific research results are regularly presented at scientific and technical exhibitions of different levels. Thus the university presented 33 exhibits at VII Moscow International Salon of Innovations and Investments and was awarded with 5 bronze and 3 silver medals.

NCSTU carries out 57 programmes of doctoral and 13 programmes of post-doctoral studies.

Young scientists of NCSTU is an important source of the university personnel formation, therefore much attention is paid to their research work. There is a council of young scientists and students in the university that coordinates students research. The number of students doing their research at the university doubled during past years. They present their research results at scientific and technical conferences. The university held 5 university, 4 regional, 1 all-Russian, and 2 international students conferences.

The university organizes conference, exhibition and contest tours for its students. The council of young scientists organized 71 tours for the students. Eventually the students received 53 awards of different types. All in all the students and young scientists of NCSTU received 1642 awards.

An important part of the university’s infrastructure is Stavropol Technological Park. It’s main objectives are to fulfill scientific and technical potential of the university, to apply high technologies, to give all-out support to scientists establishing small innovative enterprises.
