Science and practice
On the 31st of January a deputy minister for road facilities of Stavopol region, N.V. Nebesskiy, and a head of directorate “Roads under construction” G.A. Babashev visited North Caucasus State Technical University. The purpose of their visit was to get to know the university scientific research results in the sphere of road building and their practical application.
The meeting was held in Joint Nanotechnologies Centre of NCSTU. Leading scientists of the university (P.V. Rozhkov, Y.G. Borisenko, S.V. Skorikov, A.G.G.Kerimov, B.F. Galye) spoke about scientific achievements of NCSTU.
The speakers for the ministry took interest in following lines of research: long-term topping of roads, emulsified bonding materials technology for road surfaces, application of asphalt concrete, road surface monitoring. The main problem of all Stavropol roads is landslide. B.F. Galye spoke about methods for landslide control by means of drilled screw piles.
Vice-rector for science, informatization and innovations, Slusarev G.V., noticed that NCSTU didn’t require any research financing, the most essential thing for the university was to integrate science into practice which needed the ministry support.
The deputy minister for road facilities, N.V. Nebesskiy, spoke about mutually beneficial relations between the ministry and the university.
As the result it was decided to hold a high-level meeting with scientists, theoreticians, as well as practitioners, and speakers for concerned ministries participating.
