International friendship

North Caucasus StateTechnical University became the meeting place for students with public and law-enforcement authorities of both Stavropol region and North Caucasus republics. The head of the Main Department of Internal Affairs of Stavropol region lieutenant general Alexander Gorovoy, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Chechen Republic Ruslan Alkhanov, the Chechen speaker Docu Abdurakhmanov, the authorized representative of Dagestan in Stavropol region Abdula Omarov, the counselor of the authorized president representative in North Caucasus federal district Buvar Saitiyev held a discussion with the youth. They spoke about international policy, extremist provokers, crime preventions.

The meeting was attended by the vice-rector for academic work of NCSTU Tsvirinko I.A. She remarked “we live in a multiethnic region where every innocent citizen wants to preserve peace and neighborliness.” She also emphasized that the meeting was more than ever urgent taking into account recent events on Manezh Square in Moscow and in other cities of Russia when the youth was drawn into mass riots.

Alexander Gorovoy was the first who spoke to the students: “I planned to hold this meeting in the form of the straight talk long before recent events. Nowadays we understand clearly that it is necessary to carry on dialogue with people of different nations living on the territory of our region, especially with young people because it is they who is mostly subjected to provocations in view of their hotheadedness and inexperience. That’s why the top priority task for the students is to study and live observing the law.” Alexander Gorovoy also said that there was a 36 % increase in the number of crimes, committed by the students in the last year. But he also remarked that police doesn’t refer criminals to certain nationalities, the law is equal to all criminals. Appealing to the students, the head of the main department of internal affairs noticed that he would be very much obliged to those who would assist in preventing the crime. Anyone who happens to know about an imminent crime or provocation must immediately inform law-enforcement agencies. It can be done either over the phone or via the Internet. The main task for everybody is to prevent any kinds of disorder. So and in no other way it is possible to preserve peace in our region. As for young Caucasians, committing crime in Stavropol region, the whole information about them will be sent to the law-enforcement agencies of their native land. During the meeting all high guests made a speech. They called to observance of the law, decency, tolerance and mutual respect.

“Our power is in our unity”, - said the Chechen speaker Docu Abdurakhmanov. He gave an example of the nation’s unity that helped us to domesticate space, to eradicate fascism or build Baykal-Amur Railroad. “Everyone of us must prevent the youth from being drawn into disturbance in Russia in general and in Caucasus in particular. Moscow must be protected even in Caucasus and vice-versa.”

After the guests’ speech the students asked them questions, such as “How is corruption being fought in Russia?”, “How to resist the provocation?”, “What’s the function of national diasporas?”, “How does police control the Internet as a source of information?” etc. The meeting made a good impression on the students. Such straight talk will help young people to distinguish good and bad.
