European week
The aim of European week that has started in Stavropol region is to forward business contacts and acquaint us with cultural heritage of the Old World. The first event within the European week became the visit of the Head of the Delegation of European Union to Russia Fernando Valenzuela to NCSTU.
The delegation to NCSTU comprised also the head of the press and information department of the European commission in Moscow D. Daniilidis, the member of political department of EU embassy in Russia, A. Georgiev, the president of Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Stavropol Region Andrey Murga, the head of education assistance and innovation activity department, I. Kramarova.
The head of the EU delegation to Russia gave an open lecture “European Union and Russia: introduction”. He told about cooperation programs that Europe offers to Russia including programs of academic exchange, he also spoke about the role of the European Union (EU) delegation in Russia. A lot was said about one of the most famous programs – “Erasmus Mundus”, according to which any Russian student can study in Europe free of charge and get a scholarship in amount of 12 000 euro per year.
Thereafter a workshop, devoted to the program of academic exchange “Erasmus Mundus” was held by the vice-rector for international relations of NCSTU, L.R. Alieva. She said how to process documents correctly, how to file an application, how to write a motivation letter, a CV, get education or carry out a research in one of the leading higher education institutions of Europe.
“Erasmus Mundus” scholars are highly appreciated. This stage of education is considered very prestigious both in Europe and Russia. That’s why there were a lot of students, postgraduates, teachers among the audience willing to include their application to the academic exchange program. There are above 90 people among the students of NCSTU who has successfully passed English and German language tests.
North Caucasus State Technical University made a good impression on Fernando Valenzuela. The head of the European Union (EU) delegation to Russia expressed his willingness to visit our university in the future.
