The Erasmus Mundus Action 2 “MULTIC” programme

ERASMUS MUNDUS Partnership is aimed at increasing academic cooperation between European Union and Russia.

North Caucasus State TechnicalUniversity takes part in the consortia of European and Russian institutions of higher education: “Multidisciplinary capacity-building for an improved economic, political and university co-operation between the European Union and the Russian Federation”. ERASMUS MUNDUS Action 2 provides scholarships for European and Russian individuals (students, scholars, researchers, professionals).

The EU external cooperation policy in the field of higher education is targeted at educational programmes promotion, supports cooperation of higher education institutions and exchange of students, academics and researchers.

The “MULTIC” consortia includes 12 Russian universities and 8 universities from European partner countries. The European Commission will have to choose from scholars for student, academic and researcher exchange.

·        Sapienza University of Rome (Italy)

·        Ruhr-University Bochum (Germany)

·        Vienna University of Technology (Austria)

·        Wrocław University of Technology (Poland)

·        University ofTrento (Italy)

·        University ofWroclaw (Poland)

Undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate students, researchers and teaching staff can become participants of this programme. The duration of the study course varies from 5 to 10 months for undergraduate students, from 5 to22 months for master students, from 6 to 36 months for postgraduate students, from 6 to 10 months for researchers, from 3 to 6 months for academics. In this phase of the Erasmus Mundus programme the exchange will last from the 1-st of February 2011 till the 31-st of December.

The Erasmus Mundus scholarship is the most prestigious scholarship of European Union. It makes 1000 euro per month for undergraduate students and graduate students and 1500 euro per month for postgraduate students.

There were 27 students of NCSTU among all applicants.

The European Commission declared the winners of NCSTU. They are getting their visas ready and preparing to start their study course in the university from partner countries. It’s the first time, that NCSTU takes part in the Erasmus Mundus Action 2 “MULTIC” programme. Next year we hope to have more winners from NCSTU.
